carefully split the wire down the side and pull out the wrapped core

separate these and you end up with enough different colors and wires to hold you over for a while on dizzys

this is the piece of styrene tube i am going to use, not sure on the size because it came out of the scrap bin but just pick something that looks like its the right outer diameter.

this is the piece of styrene rod, again size doesn't really matter, if it looks visually correct then it is good enough.

8 cylinder engine, so i am cutting 9 lengths of wire about 3 inches long

Cut a small section of the tube, this will be the actual distributor. the styrene was a bit thick and did not look to scale on this one so i ran a drill bit through it to open it up and thin it out a bit.

insert your wires being sure to make sure they all go the same depth into the tube.

now you take one drop of thin superglue and put it on the bottom of the distributor, this covers the lower part of the wires securing them in place. before it sets, take your piece of rod and push it into the glue. leave set for an hour or so to make sure it really sets up.

trim the shaft with a pair of nippers down to a workable size

and hit with a coat of paint. dizzy done. all you have to do is drill a hole on the engine to accept the shaft of your new distributor and wire it up.
